CommunicationMail

Real mailboxes, not a notification log.

Mail is real mailboxes — domains, aliases, forwarders, credentials and the servers behind them — administered from inside the suite rather than alongside it. It is not a notification log.

What it does

Mail, in the product’s own words

  • Mailboxes, domains, aliases, forwarders and credentials
  • Shared mailboxes, with access granted and revoked per person
  • Mail servers administered from inside the suite
  • Delivery, sync and access logs
  • Email tracking, yours and — separately — everyone’s

Before you start

What has to be in place

  • Your domains, and the DNS records that let mail from them be believed. Mail sent from a domain that does not exist does not bounce; it waits.
  • A decision on shared mailboxes: who gets access, and how it is taken away.

In the user guide

5 tasks, explained

  1. 01Set up mailboxes, domains, aliases and forwarders
  2. 02Run shared mailboxes
  3. 03Administer mail servers
  4. 04Read the delivery, sync and access logs
  5. 05Use email tracking

Worth knowing

  • Mail from an unregistered sending domain does not fail loudly. It queues, and keeps queueing, until somebody looks at the delivery log.

Works with

The same records, not a sync
