Every PDF job, on files you already keep in Drive.

PDF Studio views, comments, organises, redacts, OCRs and secures PDFs stored in WorkSuite Drive — with shared edit locks, versions and an audit trail — and is growing into a full desktop PDF editor that runs on your own WorkSuite server.

How it fits

Built into Drive, not bolted on.

PDF Studio opens files where they already live, keeps every save as a new Drive version, and runs heavy jobs on your own WorkSuite server.

What it does

The PDF work offices do every day.

Read, mark up, fix pages, black out what must go, and make scans searchable — without sending files anywhere else.

01Open & save

Drive versions and locks

One person edits at a time with a shared lock; every save becomes a new Drive version.

02Mark up

Comment and organise

Annotations, stamps, page operations, watermarks, headers and Bates numbers.

03Redact

Gone means gone

True redaction removes the content, not just covers it.

04OCR

Scans become text

Server OCR makes scanned PDFs searchable.

05Server tools

Heavy jobs, your server

Optimise, convert, secure, repair and PDF/A as server jobs.

How it works

Open, edit, save — safely.

A shared lock stops two people overwriting each other, and saves are chunked and checked against the version you opened.

FAQ

PDF Studio, asked and answered

Ask us something else
What does PDF Studio do?

PDF Studio views, comments, organises, redacts, OCRs and secures PDFs stored in WorkSuite Drive, with shared edit locks, versions and an audit trail.

Where are the files stored?

Always in Drive. PDF Studio opens files where they already live, and every save becomes a new Drive version.

What stops two people overwriting each other?

A shared edit lock: one person edits at a time while others can read and comment. A save only lands if the file is still the version you opened.

Is redaction permanent?

Yes. True redaction removes the content rather than just covering it.

Can it make scanned PDFs searchable?

Yes. Server OCR makes scanned PDFs searchable, and optimise, convert, secure, repair and PDF/A run as server jobs on your own WorkSuite server.

Does JavaScript inside a PDF run?

No. Document JavaScript never runs; form maths uses a safe engine.

Can an administrator limit which tools people use?

Yes. Organisation policies decide which PDF tools people may use.

What is available today, and what comes next?

The web PDF editor runs today. A full desktop PDF editor, editing text and images, combining files, comparing versions and requesting e-signatures follow in phases.

Can I try PDF Studio before buying?

Yes. The live demo, linked from the Demo page, is a working WorkSuite with sample data you can explore. If you would rather be shown round, book a demo through the contact page (/contact/?kind=demo).

Is PDF Studio available in the cloud and self-hosted?

WorkSuite runs as WorkSuite One Cloud, hosted for you, or on your own server. On the Cloud, the business apps come with WorkSuite Business; on your own server, pricing depends on server size and the apps you choose, so ask us which plan fits.

Can I use PDF Studio on a phone or from the desktop?

WorkSuite runs in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone with nothing to install. WorkSuite Desktop is also available for Windows, macOS and Linux and can point at the Cloud or at your own server.
