Write, activate, renew and end a contract
Four states, deliberately distinct. A written contract entitles nobody until it is activated, and a contract that ended still has to be readable for the work done while it ran.
AMC & Service runs annual maintenance contracts: the contract itself, the sites and equipment it covers, the visits it entitles the customer to, and the estimates and invoices that follow work done outside it.
Annual maintenance contracts, the equipment they cover and the visits they entitle.
Four states, deliberately distinct. A written contract entitles nobody until it is activated, and a contract that ended still has to be readable for the work done while it ran.
Equipment is recorded at a site, and service history attaches to the equipment. Move an item between sites rather than re-creating it, or you lose the history that justifies replacing it.
A request is the customer’s problem; assigning it makes it somebody’s. Both are kept against the equipment.
The schedule is what is due. It is the difference between a maintenance contract and an insurance policy.
A warranty claim is work you may not be paying for. Recording it as a claim rather than a visit is what makes that recoverable.
Work outside the contract is estimated and then invoiced from what was actually done, so the customer sees the same job twice rather than two different ones.
Share links let a customer see their own service record without an account. Costs stay on your side of that line.
The capability list this guide is written against, unabridged. Nothing above adds to it.
AMC & Service on the Services pageThe modules AMC & Service hands work to, or takes it from. Most problems that look like one module are a handover between two.
